Apart from this, I also feel we can smooth the process of registering in Committers map, here are some initial thoughts. I am not sure about the feasibility of these items for us. -- At the time of onboarding new committer in ASF, we can ask do they want to register themselves in committer map, if yes, we can get required details (lat/long, etc) from them and generate and commit FOAF file by ourselves. So no action will be required by the Committer. -- The current process involved two steps 1. Create a FOAF file [1]. 2. Commit the FOAF file to committers SVN repo. Can we simplify this process, we can create a simple form with details like the first name, last name, lat/long, etc (all the details we asked in the form available here [1]). As the Committer submit this form, automatically behind the scene FOAF file will be created and committed to SVN repo. We can make sure this form is accessible to only committers.
