Hi All, I have recently involved with the official facebook page of ASF. Although, it does not have as much followers as the Twitter profile, the page is organically growing and I believe it will become a great branding platform eventually. Why, I am writing this email is that I have noted that even though the twitter profile is verified with the blue tick, FB is not ;)
Getting the page verified is great in obvious ways such as it will effortlessly convince the FOSS community the legitimacy of the page. Which in turn will be good for the Apache brand in whole. The process is also quite simple and instant as we just need to enter the verification number that will be sent to the publicly listed phone number (At the moment the page has not listed a phone number). The alternative process is to upload the usual set of documents for manual inspection. Anyway, lets here the thoughts, I am more than glad to help with the process if you all don't think it's utterly useless.
