Hello, I am Abayomi Ayoola, the national coordinator for Rails Girls, Nigeria and Africa Lead at CloudCamp. We are writing to solicit for your support for our events coming up between April and May next year.
Rails Girls events are aimed at helping women understand technology and build their own ideas. The events do this by introducing technology in an engaging and approachable way to girls and women, demonstrating how they can bring their ideas to life. Rails Girls also helps to build a community of women, who can support each other during the learning process. At Rails Girls events, girls learn sketching, prototyping and basic programming while getting introduced to the world of technology. Founded at the end of 2010 in Helsinki, Finland by the non profit organization Rails Girls, and originally intended as a onetime event, it has gone on to become an event hosted in major cities around the world by a variety of organizations and groups of people interested in encouraging more girls and women to create with technology. During the two-day workshop, girls dive into the magical world of Ruby on Rails where they would be taught designing, prototyping and coding with the help of our coaches. While CloudCamp is an unconference for cloud computing early adopters, held internationally on an ad hoc basis. We hope to read from you soon
