I'm not sure which calendar dates you are referring to. However different cultures have different ways of doing things. Dates are normally expressed as DD/MM/YYYY in Europe but in North America they use MM/DD/YYYY Europeans tend to say 30th September whereas in NA they say September 30. As I understand it the Chinese generally write their family name first. What's important is that the date is unambiguous to all readers. If the month is spelled out in letters then it is unlikely be confused with a date. Otherwise for numeric-only dates it is sensible to use the ISO format.
