Where did you find the task below? It looks like data from the old "help
wanted" system and I thought that had been disabled some time ago.
The task was created ~7 years ago so is somewhat out of date. Commons
Daemon has since moved to git
https://github.com/apache/commons-daemon/
and the build process has been documented in
https://github.com/apache/commons-daemon/blob/master/HOWTO-RELEASE.txt
and
https://github.com/apache/commons-daemon/blob/master/src/native/windows/README.txt
That said, I am sure there is room for improvement. If this is still a
task that interests you then I suggest you try using the instructions to
build the Windows binaries yourself, ask any questions where things are
unclear and then submit one or more PRs to improve the existing
instructions.
Keep in mind that the release builds use a specific build process to
ensure the resulting binaries will run on a clean install any current
Windows OS without any additional libraries.
