for Commons components backwards compatibility is very important. In the
past [beanutils] always stated to be compliant to the Java Beans
specification. Supporting fluent properties now per default could affect
existing code in an unpredictable manner. Therefore, to be on the safe
side, such a change will only be possible in a major release which can
change behavior or even break binary or source compatibility.
