I raised a JIRA to request it as enhancement; if the feature already
exists then the JIRA can be converted into a documentation omission!

Particularly some Maven plugins.
I've raised the JIRAs anyway.

I see that most poms already use the viewvc URL.
It's certainly useful to have that available.

So maybe a temporary solution is to copy the properties file to every component.
