I'd suggest that users of "OpenMapRealVector" step up and provide advice on how to keep supporting this class. Maybe that you could post on the "user" ML, to poll for an eventual removal of the class! Or if there is reluctance to remove this functionality, we can let the bug unfixed, warn (in the Javadoc) of the problems, and relax the unit tests (by overriding the "testMap" methods and including only functions that do not make them fail). Then resolve MATH-821 as "Won't fix".
