FWIW, at work, we went from Java 1.4.2 directly to 1.6 years ago. We
changed the platform requirement for our server and tool and that was that.
If you want to use the latest and greatest of our wares, you need Java 6.
We do use JAXB, scripting and so on, so it's a lot more than
String#isEmpty() ;)
