Welcome to Commons! To help get started, have a look at: http://www.apache.org/foundation/getinvolved.html ...and for Commons: http://commons.apache.org/patches.html ...and [math]: http://commons.apache.org/math/developers.html As you have already started doing, it is always best to start discussing ideas for enhancements here on the mailing list. Bug reports or simple patches can be entered directly into JIRA tickets, but for significant enhancements its always best to get some feedback on the list before putting too much work into patches. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when engaging the community here: 1) We all participate here as *individuals* and while we can accept software grants from external entities, we prefer to have all development happen here, in the open, with individual developers contributing directly and responding to community feedback. 2) We are all volunteers here and our available time fluctuates. This means that sometimes it takes a while to get a response to a post or issue. Polite nudging and persistence are key here. Thanks in advance for your contributions!
