and feel free to ask questions etc - you'll get lots of feedback.

Generally the aim is to follow the same approach as other projects in
terms of code style/build so that people can easily move over. Don't
do any releases while in the sandbox, when you feel the component is
ready to move into 'Proper' and then have releases you call a vote.
Generally it's expected that others will have got involved by then.

On the temporal expressions - basing it on Joda Time (if it's not)
would be cool. We've not had much fun trying to write solid code on
top of the standard Java date code :)
