As Simon said this is a clirr bug (and I see the same on my machine if I remove 1.8.0-BETA from my local repo). This was fixed in 2.2.1 of the clirr plugin (beanutils is using 2.2) and I just tried out the latest version (2.2.2) to confirm this - so I will change that in trunk (as soon as subversion is available again).
