Hi All,

People here may want to be aware of some changes with regard to the m2 snapshot repo on people.apache.org.

On 5 Aug the intrastructure team deleted every file in the snapshot repo which is more than 30 days old. They intend to do this on a regular basis from now on.

As a result, if any project using m2 uses the snapshot repo for "release candidates" or similar, then the artifacts may not remain available for more than 30 days.

And if any project pushes snapshot artifacts to the snapshot repo "on demand" (eg using an svn commit to trigger a build and deploy, or manually deploying snapshot artifacts after a change) then this will no longer work. Instead the only reliable way to use the snapshot repo appears to be to use an automatic build system to build everything on a regular basis (eg every week or every night) regardless of whether it changed or not.

Regards,
Simon
