To be a good .NET developer means following the code requirements of not just C#, but any language that may make use of an assembly written in C#. That means VB too :( VB cannot understand "_" prefixes, and I *do* like to denote class/module-level fields. It makes things easier on me when looking at code. Just my preference.

I personally dislike this convention. Since modern IDE highlight class
members and put nice icons in front of the class name it's no longer
useful.

Additional argument: naming conventions which require renaming
for likely cases of refactoring are Evil (TM).
