Do we need to allocate third IP address while creating Load Balancer

I'm trying to create a Load Balancer with CloudStack. Do we need to allocate a 
third IP address for the LoadBalancer?
If yes then I have to reset all the DNS settings. Is there any option to use my 
old public IP which I have configured while creating VM's
