I've seen some of the conversations on dev@cloudstack- but I'll respond in both lists.
We've had requests for Gitlab, Gerrit, and a few others. Sometimes (including our own PMC) we've had requests for several different, somewhat competing solutions for the same project. We aren't shutting the door on any of these, but we're unlikely to move quickly on any of them. Currently Infrastructure is working with the Whimsy PMC to gather data on what a Github-based solution would look like, and whether it would meet the ASF's requirements. We're doing this as a limited experiment at the direction of the Board. That experiment is explicitly limited to the Whimsy PMC. Infrastructure's preference would be for us to use a Github-managed solution to repository hosting and management if it can satisfy the requirements the ASF needs to have met.
