thanks guys, that is a rather old issue. When I install
mysql-connector-python it looks in
https://pypi.python.org/simple/mysql-connector-python/. The file does exist
in https://pypi.python.org/pypi/mysql-connector-python/.

strange error to arise all of a sudden.
