    Might only be me, but I think it is a bit assumptious to assume that the 
internal network is routable for everyone. To clarify I am mostly worried about 
the console traffic, if you have users on a rfc1918 address space that doesn't 
have a route to the internal address I fear that return traffic might get 
dropped. 
    
    I think you solution would be fine in environments where everyone is 
expected to have access to the internal network, but there are cases where that 
isn't the matter. Unfortunately I don't have time to setup a lab with such a 
scenario to test if it actually poses a problem anytime soon.
