The specifications at [1] show that data volume shrink is only supported on KVM and that too for QCOW2 disk types. However, I see the option to shrink on VMware too. Can anybody point me to the matrix which specifies grow/shrink support per hypervisor type?
Currently I am seeing "unexpected exception" while trying to shrink Data volume on both the hypervisors, and it's a null pointer exception. I will log a bug for this and keep you posted.
