Upgrade instruction says For registering template Name and description has systemvm-xenserver-4.2. 4.2 should change to 4.3 in all hypervisor Template url should point to 64 bit templates for all hypervisor Os types should be OS Type: Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 (64-bit) instead of 32 bit in all hypervisors Before step 4 we need to perform one more step for rolling upgrades feature to be more effective download new system Vm template to all primary storage pool using prepareTemplate API . Wait till this download is complete I have done so many upgrades never needed step 10 10. (VMware only) Additional steps are required for each VMware cluster. These steps will not affect running guests in the cloud. These steps are required only for clouds using VMware clusters: With rolling upgrades we can tell to use $ nohup cloudstack-sysvmadm -d <IP address> -u cloud -p -s > sysvm.log 2>&1 & s option will upgrade only SSVMs and CPVMs. * All VRs are still on older version, existing services will continue to be available. MS cannot send any commands to VR until it is upgraded * Selectively upgrade VRs using upgradeRouterTemplate API (zone/pod/cluster/account/domain wise) * MS will send command to upgraded VRs and normal functioning resumes * For VRs which are not upgraded, services will continue to be available (VR state is same as before upgrade). VR cannot receive new commands until VR is upgraded. These changes are applied from all the upgrade versions in release notes.
