So resident memory size is close to 2048 MB, total memory size of 4610 MB includes VBox memory usage. from guest vm /proc/meminfo: MemTotal: 435252 kB Even if I increase the base memory size in VBox to 4096 MB, the total memory in /proc/meminfo is still about 435252 kB.
