I am also using marvin to deploy my local environment. Do you need to restart MS after adding this globalConfig section in our .cfg file? If so, developer may be able to workaround this. But this issue still needs to be addressed for people not using marvin framework to setup environment, then they have to always remember a manual update host step before starting any ssvm.
