Is it so bad to leave features in branches for a bit longer while we try to get
a stable release out? The proposal is for committers to hold off committing
features into trunk while we test and stabilize it. Why don’t we give it a try
and see if it works?

If we fail to get consensus, we have failed even without trying something new.
What is worse?
