Hi,

We are a team of 3 graduate students in Computer Science at University of
Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
We were thinking of adding support for RAMP transactions to Cassandra, as
part of our Advanced Distributed Systems project work.

I have looked at the associated ticket that Tupspin mentioned in the
previous email, and it appears that there is a blocking issue mentioned in
the discussion.

To be clear, using non-unique ts as RAMP id is broken, but I agree that we
should proceed here with the assumption that we'll solve the unique ts
problem; if that doesn't work out we can figure out a plan B.

I'd like to get a green-signal from the developer community. Also, any
information that would help us such as internal class hierarchy, other
implementation design details of Cassandra and your feedback on the
blocking issue that I mentioned.

Thanks
—
