Thank you, Mihai --------------------------------------- Description: The mission of Calcite is the creation and maintenance of software related to Dynamic data management framework Apache Calcite is a highly customizable framework for parsing and planning queries on data in a wide variety of formats. It allows database-like access, and in particular a SQL interface and advanced query optimization, for data not residing in a traditional database. Avatica is a sub-project within Calcite and provides a framework for building local and remote JDBC and ODBC database drivers. Avatica has an independent release schedule and its own repository. Project Status: Current project status: ongoing (high activity) Issues for the board: none Membership Data: Apache Calcite was founded 2015-10-21 (11 years ago) There are currently 82 committers and 32 PMC members in this project. The Committer-to-PMC ratio is roughly 2.5:1. Community changes, past quarter: * No new PMC members. Last addition was Zhen Chen on 2026-03-11. * Weiqing Zhou was added as committer on 2026-08-22 * We have a vote in progress to add another committer Project Activity * Calcite 1.42.0 was released on 2026-05-31 * Avatica 1.28.0 was released on 2026-05-12 * Avatica 1.29.0 was released on 2026-09-20 A new Calcite release is planned relatively soon. Security Response We have received some reports generated automatically by AI agents and all the critical and important issues have received patches or are currently are under review. Community Health The community seems very actively engaged. We are seeing a substantial increase first-time contributions, no doubt due to the barrier of entry to contributions being lowered by AI tools. The suprising trend of closing more tickets than opening has continued into this quarter. This is due to the dilligence of people like Yu Xu (xuzifu666) who are closing old issues.
