Hey everyone, I've put together a short doc talking about free-threaded Python runtimes as they relate to Beam, largely focused on the work that needs to be done (both within and beyond the Beam repo) to enable that style of execution. This is largely just context building for future work so I don't speculate too much on specific code changes, focusing on broad areas and ideas instead. The major barrier is just a need for core dependencies to provide free-threading support (particularly gRPC,) but there are some other areas of work within the repo worth being aware of as well.
