Hello AsterixDB Community, I am Naveen Kumar P, a B.Tech student in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), India. I am writing to express my strong interest in the *"NL2SQL++ assistant"* project for GSoC 2026.
My technical background is primarily in *Java and Spring Boot*, and I have developed full-stack applications like a *Turf Booking System* and an *IPL Team Management System* using MySQL. Being an AI & Data Science student, I have a deep interest in *RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)* and LLM integrations. I am particularly excited about using *LangChain4j* to build a modular NL2SQL component for AsterixDB. I believe my combination of Java skills and AI knowledge makes me a good fit for this task. I have already started exploring the AsterixDB codebase and the project description. Could the mentors (*@Suryaa Charan* and *@Ian Maxon*) please guide me on any small tasks or "Good First Issues" I can work on to get started with the contribution?
