I’m Vignesh Kumar from Chennai (IST). I’m a backend developer (Java) with ~3 years experience, and I’m a beginner to open source. I’ve subscribed to this dev mailing list (happy to follow list etiquette). I’m interested in the GSoC 2026 project idea “Top‑K Nearest Queries Support.” I’m starting from the basics and would appreciate guidance on how to ramp up. Questions: Is there an existing JIRA / tracking issue for this idea? If not, what’s the preferred way to create one? What is a good first contribution for a beginner (docs/test/small bug) so I can learn the AsterixDB contribution workflow?
