Hi folks, Suryaa reminded a few of us about the fact GSoC is ramping up, and I thought I would relay this reminder. AsterixDB and VXQuery have participated in the past and had some good luck with the program. I proposed a few ideas for projects in JIRA, and Suryaa did as well. It would be great to have some more- I can serialize them in JIRA with the proper labels if needed. More mentors is always better as well, especially if you have a good handle on the subject area the idea is involved in. The deadline is coming up pretty quickly, I believe the 3rd is when the ASF has to send the list of proposals to Google. So any ideas should probably be in by the next few days.
