*Release Discussion* - 9 issues in the backlog - Two issues around ARROW-2826 that are array builder cleanup in C++. Almost ready to go. - Feather performance issue: run some benchmarks and - Two conversion paths for python to arrow conversion. If can’t get done in half day, push off to next release. - Other thing: Stream handling api in java that Bryan is working on. - Binary artifacts for release vote: very nearly there but ARROW-2875. Working from source release hard but most proper as well. - Question about cutting a release candidate: Take a look at the release management guide on the wiki. - More discussion about how the new build stuff works. Charles is guinea pig nubmer one. *Gandiva Discussion* Challenges around LLVM versions. Quick overview of LLVMlite: a thinner layer to replace llvmpy. Cut down on size and compile times. For Gandiva, needs to go through vote and SGA. Jacques will get Gandiva to provide feedback on packaging concerns and discuss how to get this kicked off.
