This is not a rude question to ask.
I think there is a bug in extension-point [48804] and an issue of
performance of <exec/> [48834] which have to be dealt with before making
a new release.
What do the other committers think ?

Depending on whether we need to fix absolutely other bugs .... it can
take one to two months from now to release 1.8.1
So I see it released in May.
