The dependency on the XML Editor is just about automatically installing the Ivy's xsd into Eclipse's catalog. So it is only usefull for people who does have the Eclipse XML Editor. And this automatic install is just done by some xml declaration in the plugin.xml, so we don't have some compile or runtime dependency on the Eclipse XML editor, unlike Zest. The fix would be to just put the dependency on that xml plugin optional. I will need to actually test that to be sure thought.
