It was a fresh checkout... :|

That was the first thing I did.  The only xalan I find
is 2.7.1 in $ANT_HOME/lib; javap shows those public
members are present.  I don't use a CLASSPATH as I
decided they were evil years ago.  Strange and
frustrating.
