Sure, it's up to you and the Ivy community to decide what you want to do. The 3 uses I described are quite easy to implement, and there are tons of examples in Ant itself. Regarding nearing 2.0 final, I think it's never too late to do the right thing ;-) Especially when I'm not the one who has to do it ;-))) For 2.0 you may just want to make sure you don't have anything that would prevent you from refactoring the code in the future to support the better model we discussed.
