Hello Kev, I am interested, but I need to get myself a new laptop to start really working on ant again. My hard disk is nearly dead :(, so I did not use my laptop since shortly after the Ant 1.6.5 release.
I have no ideas about graphics and stylesheets, but I have some about the process of bringing the docs in order. I think we should reorder the existing docs along the structure which I think Erik Hatcher had conceived and which is incarned by the @ant.category tags in the source code (scm, packaging, ...). I am still interested by the idea of deriving the docs from the source code. Knowing that there would be about 50% to 60% of the doc (and some of the most interesting parts) which will remain outside of the source code. For instance the examples about each task, and transversal subjects like "developing with Ant" or "installing Ant" Cheers, Antoine > --- Ursprüngliche Nachricht --- > Von: Kev Jackson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > An: Ant Developers List <dev@ant.apache.org> > Betreff: Manual + xdocs etc > Datum: Wed, 10 Aug 2005 14:12:42 +0700 > > Hi all, > > Since the debate over deriving the Ant docs from the source has died > down a little recently, I thought I'd just poke everyone again <poke>, > and see who's still interested. > > The other thing I'd like to propose is a much needed update to the > layout and visual appearance of the manual - it looks a little flat for > 2005, although at least it's comprehensive.
