Making FileList and FileSet drop those requirements when dealing with absolute paths is nothing that any committer would be opposed to AFAICT, the only point is that it has to keep working without breaking any tasks. For <copy>, I'm with Peter here. It would probably be better to make <copy> support nested <path>s.
