http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21084 exec & standard error output Summary: exec & standard error output Product: Ant Version: 1.5.3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: Other Component: Core tasks AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I often need to communicate with shell tasks in ant This is usually done with exec outputproperty. Now when the exec-ed script works all goes well. However when it starts outputing warnings on the error console there is no way to separate them from normal messages in the property (even if they're harmless and we know we can ignore them) exec will ignore 2>/dev/null exec should provide a mean to capture either standard or error console or both. There is really no good reason for dumping them together - the standard/error separation is a well established computing feature. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
