Dear Apache Airflow Mentors,

I hope you are doing well. My name is Rachana Challa, and I am a
second-year Computer Science and Engineering student. I am highly
interested in contributing to Apache Airflow as part of Google Summer of
Code (GSoC) 2025.

While exploring open issues, I found "Forbid extra fields in execution API
request and response models" to be an important enhancement that can
improve API robustness. I believe this contribution aligns well with the
goals of Airflow and would be a great starting point for my GSoC journey.

My Contribution Plan:

Analyze how extra fields are currently handled in the execution API.

Implement stricter validation to reject unnecessary fields.

Add unit tests to ensure correctness.

Update the relevant API documentation.

I have already set up the development environment and started analyzing the
relevant codebase. I would love to discuss this further and refine my
approach based on community feedback.

Looking forward to your guidance and suggestions!

Best regards,
Rachana Challa
