Every year DigitalOcean runs a program called Hacktoberfest where folks are encouraged to make open source contributions in the form of pull requests. As part of this, they help with discovery by featuring various projects <https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com/#featured-projects> for folks to contribute to.
