Hello, When closing a bug as a duplicate, some critical information could become less noticeable if it does not already exist in the original bug. For example, it was not clear that bug 1738056 <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1738056> affected accessibility; however, its duplicate (bug 1735712 <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1735712>) has the keyword “access” which indicates an accessibility-related issue. To mitigate the absence of such important information, we implemented a feature for the autonag bot to automatically copy metadata from duplicate bugs to the original bug <https://github.com/mozilla/relman-auto-nag/issues/1760>; this includes the following:
- Adding accessibility-related metadata <https://github.com/mozilla/relman-auto-nag/pull/1754> - Setting the performance impact evaluation <https://github.com/mozilla/relman-auto-nag/pull/1776> - Linking to regressors <https://github.com/mozilla/relman-auto-nag/pull/1779> - Confirming the bug if the duplicate was confirmed <https://github.com/mozilla/relman-auto-nag/pull/1784> Please let us know if you have any concerns or want to suggest other metadata to be extracted from duplicate bugs. Your feedback is genuinely appreciated.
