the whole build seems to be very complex. Not just the huge configure.in, but also the complexity in moz.build files, many ifdef's, etc, etc. Many orthogonal things are twisted together (eg. widget toolkits influence lots of other things) I'm thinking of having a deeper look at Kbuild. It's really nice to handle complex dependencies.
