I certainly agree that this would be better than not allowing third parties
to access devices
at all. I would be more enthusiastic about it if:

(1) There was a simple, standardized, way to write this kind of add-on.
(2) We didn't disclose the origin to the WebUSB device (unlike, say, FIDO)
so that it couldn't discriminate.
