I'm not an owner or peer of the module, so formally I don't have the authority to reject, but I'd encourage the module owners to reject such a patch, yes. If the module owners are OK with it, my proposal to rewrite the converters in Rust is also relevant to other suggestions to tweak m-c uconv: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.platform/sefrg5Of8tw > It's doesn't need to support in firefox or other gecko-based project, I > means continue to preserve the code, but provide a option to disable/enable > it. > > Or the comm source tree need to depends on the internal of gecko, that's a > big problem. It seems to me that doing things the old way (when mailnews wasn't compiled into libxul in e.g. Icedove) was a bigger problem. What problem is solved by having a custom comm-central libxul but not building all the comm-cental-specific stuff into it? -- Henri Sivonen hsivo...@hsivonen.fi https://hsivonen.fi/ _______________________________________________ dev-platform mailing list dev-platform@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/dev-platform
