You may want to follow bug 951624 at the moment, though the first interface changes might appear in newly filed dependent bugs. Probably, new bugs specific to Thunderbird and SeaMonkey will be required for the actual forking operation, and they will be only loosely related to the small incremental changes we'll make throughout several new bugs.
