Maybe there's a specific case where you can reproduce this, but in general I've always been able to set breakpoints in unnamed namespaces. I've tested just now with a simple app in VS2008, VS2010 and VS2012. And on those debuggers it works fine. I don't have VS2005 or VC6 in front of me at the moment, but I don't remember a problem there.
