Well, but aren't you proposing doing more of exactly the problem that led to this proposal?
David wrote about there being a pattern of bugs that only manifest on Linux PGO, and that there's a very high cost of having someone figure out how to reproduce and debug the issue. (Often, apparently, only to find that the cause is a gcc PGO bug.)
It's quite possible 799295 is a real bug unrelated to PGO, but I take the proposal as implying that we're more likely to have time to properly investigate Linux bugs when the noise of caused-by-buggy-PGO issues is taken out of the mix.
