I've been just added to this list and your message is the only one I've received so far, but if you haven't seen, I made some progress in the installation of a self-hosted FxA server. See my notes here: https://github.com/mozilla/fxa/issues/3652
Sadly, it is not usable as I ran into some difficulties around turning a dev env into a production server. It would be so great to make it happen as it contains all the services that you'd need as well, e.g., a sync server instance. The issue is also p5 which means the lowest priority, so I don't hope any help will come to rescue us in the following months :(
It would be great to prove me wrong and see a counter example by prioritizing the issue higher and assigning somebody to work on it to update the FxA self-hosting docs. I think, many people would love to do a "docker-compose up -d" on this project at home or at a VPS to host their own Mozilla FxA/sync stack.
Cheers, Immánuel

Subject: [fxa] Advice Request - Firefox Accounts Server
To whom it may concern,
I'm currently facing several issues trying to deploy a Firefox
Accounts Server.
The official documentation seems to be outdated, and I can't get
the new monorepo (https://github.com/mozilla/fxa)
to work as expected.
I especially face many problems of dependencies and
interdependencies between the different services provided by the
monorepo.
I know other people tried this installation process and had similar issues. I would appreciate it if you could point me to a more updated and/or precise documentation set.
My last bullet point would be to know what are Mozilla's plans
about this project (still maintained ?, part of the roadmap ?, ...
) ?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Best regards.| |
