Hey all.

We just had our regular front-end meeting. This is what happened:

* theme: end of train 80
* sms install link
  * "remind me later" link, what is it?
    * it just means skip this step, but gives us permission to hit them up
again in the future
    * vbudhram: does it go to settings?
    * rfeeley: about:home is better than about:preferences#sync
    * adavis: we could change it to "skip for now" or "maybe later"
    * rfeeley: sync preferences should maybe show a state for "you're only
syncing one device"
  * "why is this required?" link, what is it?
    * modal message with a long blurb
    * adavis: it's too long
    * rfeeley to sort out the copy
    * adavis: the gist of what is said is okay, it makes the point that
sync isn't a permanent backup
    * adavis: just pull out the main sentences from that copy
  * stomlinson: is the view too full-up, with app store links, legal text,
"learn more" link?
    * "learn more" should link to generic mozilla privacy page
    * first bit of text might need work, "...directly to your smartphone"
should mention app stores?
  * stomlinson: sms install links in spreadsheet are ios/android, not
universal
    * adavis: false! all links are universal on a mobile device, on laptop
it defaults to play store
    * use the params to force the correct default for each button
    * link in the sms has no param and adjust will detect the operating
system
  * sender id
    * can be text in the uk, so "Firefox"
    * needs to be number in the usa
      * use main mozilla phone number from email?
      * or short code
      * fennec uses 366-98, copy that
  * hide the form if user is not in a supported country
    * adavis: sms greatly outperforms email, not worth doing the work to
make email a fallback
    * vbudhram: and we've already sent them an email containing app store
links anyway
* sign-in on ios not loading iframe
  * adavis filed it at 1 am
  * stomlinson couldn't reproduce in release
  * needs validation, screenshots included in the bug to prove alex is not
crazy
* adavis is on the case with the add/change email feature doc
  * most important to tackle the add case, change email less so
  * linkedin have a good flow for this, take inspiration from them
* from last time
  * shane to move sms install link feature doc to github - not done yet
  * vijay to review shane's ios fixes - done
* train 79 to be released today
  * jrgm had an issue with tigerblood
  * https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-customs-server/issues/166
  * vbudhram to speak to greg about it
* train 80
  * can be cut today
  * no outstanding prs
* verification reminder queries killing the db
  * still no definite answer on this yet
  * there's a deeper underlying bug, nothing tries to reconnect to the db
when it's back up
    * need to audit db-connection handling code across all the repos
    * jrgm should open a bug this, but doesn't really have good data on it
* cross-repo testing
  * in place under a test org
  * if/when value is proven, we can bring it in to mozilla repo (and pay
for circle?)
* dockerize all the things
  * jbuck: why is the content server so unreliable in circle?
    * `SystemStackError: stack level too deep`
    * can't recreate it locally
    * is there some infinite recursion of imports going on somehow?
* firefox profile backup
  * there is an existing bug for this,
