*Theme of the meeting: The end of train-78*
This meeting was made of two parts, a UX/PM focused half and an Ops/General
half.
Highlights:
- The firstrun flow is undergoing an A/B test to see how sending users
to the /signin page instead of the /signup page affects users.
- ADavis is interfacing with the onboarding and growth teams to keep
this on track and scoped appropriately.
- Our verification emails are considered spam by Outlook and possibly
others. Until we understand and fix the root cause of this, a bit of text
is being added to the "confirm your email" screens nudging the user to also
check their spam folder.
- Divya is working on new radio buttons for FxA. The radio button
styling is closely modeled on the checkbox style. The first place the new
radio buttons will be used is in the "Reasons for disconnecting a device"
screen.
- Web sessions are in the works for the Devices & Apps section [1]
- Ryan and Alex are both wondering if there is more we can do to nudge
users to use better passwords while also not increasing the rate of
password resets.
- "Connect another device" phase 2 is in the works, this time we are
going to allow users to send an SMS from desktop to their phone, the SMS
will contain a Firefox install link. Alex has started on the feature doc.
Ryan Feeley and I have had a chat about UX. Phil is going to be my project
buddy. [2]
- FxA will send stringified WebChannel payloads to Fx 50 and above
starting with train-78.
