Theme: Train-75 - Where are we at?
- Since Thursday is Thanksgiving in the US next week, both of next Thursday's Web Coordination meetings are cancelled. - "Connect another device (Phase 1)" work is proceeding. Adavis is working on the feature doc [1], stomlinson and vladikoff the front end [2]. stomlinson on the hook to fill in the "concrete implementation plan" for the feature doc. - Verification reminders have been temporarily disabled on prod because polling for which accounts is causing a heavy replica DB load. Instead of polling from all auth-server boxes, we are going to try to poll from a single box. - Outlook/Hotmail consider our signup verification email spam! I saw this on my own account. Adavis did some follow-up and saw our email sending IP address is on at least one IP blocklist. :( - Our circle tests are doing marginally better, but are still flaky. We are trying to track down the source of errors, the latest in the saga is that sometimes connections to the db-server timeout. - More than one of us have made mistakes shrinkwrapping differrent repos because different repos have different policies. Most use pdehaan's `npmshrink` tool, the content server does not. But some folks wrap devDependencies on the content-server, others do not. We decided we are going to keep the current policies but add an `npm run shrinkwrap` command to each repo that "does the right thing." - We are seeing a lot of strangeness with placeholder devices in the devices view, esp on Android and iOS. Phil Booth and others have been digging in. - Persona EOL PR [3]. It made me choke up. - The FxA profile server is now running in Docker in prod! Again, NO Web Coordination meetings next Thursday!
